Vendanges

In this work entitled “Vendanges”, Gerald Auer delicately captures the essence of a wine-growing landscape. The vines, in golden and green hues, stretch across gentle hills, creating a harmonious backdrop for the figures engaged in the harvest. The artist uses a watercolour technique that lends fluidity and lightness to the colours, enhancing the impression of natural light bathing the scene. Although stylised, the silhouettes of the grape harvesters are rendered with particular attention to their postures and tools, bearing witness to a respect for agricultural work. The slightly blurred background allows distant hills to emerge, adding depth to the composition. The chosen palette, dominated by yellows and greens, evokes the warmth of an autumn day, inviting the viewer to experience the tranquillity of this moment of the harvest.
