Per Kirkeby (1938–2018), a Danish artist, develops a body of work that an auction house text describes as inspired by nature and connected to abstraction.
The documents show a range of practices and formats: in a painting described in an auction catalogue, the colours are applied with a brush and palette knife to an unprimed canvas. The Art Institute of Chicago also lists plates from Nye 10 Illustrationer dated 1984 and Soft Lapping of Waves, Green (Leiser Wellenschlag, Grün), dated 2005. An entry for Untitled refers to Per Kirkeby, Paintings 1978–1989, published in Copenhagen in 2016, under reference M481.
