The Czech painter, sculptor and graphic artist Jan Kubíček (1927–2013) is associated with Constructivist and Concrete art. A documented example of his work is Progrese-Regrese (1974), an acrylic painting on canvas measuring 120 × 68.5 cm, signed and dated on both the canvas and the stretcher; the title and an indication of the material are on the stretcher.
The published provenance records a direct acquisition from the artist, followed by a private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia. The sale notice associates the work with presentations in Kutná/Prague in 2011, in Düren in 2011–2012 and in Erfurt in 2012, at the venues it cites. It also refers to the exhibition catalogue Dialog über Grenzen, Die Sammlung Riese, page 117.
This profile brings together identity references for Jan Kubíček and paintings, drawings and works on paper documented in auction catalogues.
