The horse has been part of his imagination since childhood. After the death of his parents, he and his brother are taken in in Switzerland by an uncle who is a horseman and owns a riding school near Bern; from a very young age, he already draws horses. His biography describes him as self-taught, with no training at an art school. He returns to France in 1935 and obtains a teaching diploma. In 1960, he decides to make painting his profession.
Horses remain a preferred subject, but his repertoire also includes flowers, nature, trains and nudes. He explains that his horses found a place in the abstract field he was opening up in his paintings: in his approach, figurative and non-figurative forms are therefore not separate paths. Trincot associates informal painting with complete freedom in the application of colour. This conception sheds light on the importance he gives to the encounter between a recognisable subject and an abstract space, without reducing his works to a single motif. An oil on canvas dated 1990, measuring 40 × 80 cm, provides a tangible reference point in his work.
The exhibitions listed in his biography take him notably to Paris in 1957, then to Frankfurt and New York in 1967 and Cannes in 1968. Another source also mentions France, New York, Zurich, Luxembourg and Monte Carlo. He is described as a member of the Salon des Indépendants de Paris and recognised with the « Signatures » prize, a medal from Arts, Sciences et Lettres, and the title of Officier du Mérite culturel et artistique. A biography also notes several awards received between 1962 and 1993 for his paintings and his artistic commitment. He organised his own exhibitions, wishing not to depend on art dealers. In 1985, he also took part in founding the association M.A.J.E.P.T., intended to open a toy museum in Colmar.
