After attending the Realgymnasium in Insterburg, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Königsberg from 1920 to 1925, then became a master student of Artur Degner at the Hochschule für bildende Künste in Berlin from 1925 to 1931. In the capital, he had a small studio and earned his living mainly through press drawing. In 1928, he was represented in the exhibition “Ostpreußische Maler”, organised at the Kunstkammer of the Berlin gallery owner Martin Wasservogel. Painting trips and study visits took him to Paris and the south of France. After his time in Berlin, he lived and worked as an independent artist in his native region of East Prussia until 1938.
A soldier in the Wehrmacht during the Second World War, he returned from captivity in 1946 and settled in Bad Klosterlausnitz, where he worked independently as a painter and graphic artist, before moving to Jena in 1950. In Jena, from 1953 to 1955, he was bound by a “friendship contract” to the synthetic-fibre factory “Wilhelm Pieck” and led drawing groups within VEB Carl Zeiss. The works cited in his career include Die Potsdamer Brücke in Berlin, a pastel from 1931, and Bau der Camsdorfer Brücke in Jena, an oil painting from 1952.

In 1958, Lasko participated in the annual exhibition of the German Academy of Arts in Berlin; his name is also listed in the Fourth German Art Exhibition in Dresden, 1958–1959.
