From 1926, his travels through the French countryside gave rise to a body of landscapes and urban views. Meaux and Avallon are among the places mentioned, followed in 1927 by Poitiers, Rouen, Honfleur, Caen and Auxerre. In 1931, he painted, among other places, in Saint-Malo and returned to Honfleur. This geographical diversity is matched by a diversity of subjects: his work also includes portraits, still lifes and bullfighting scenes, and he worked in pastel.
Several works are held in public collections. Le Bassin d’Honfleur, an oil on canvas from 1930, is in the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Calais; Maison dans la campagne, also an oil on canvas, is held at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Chambéry. In Paris, L’Abri Saint-Joseph, dated around 1924, belongs to the Musée d’Art moderne, and La Belle Cabaretière, from 1924, to the Musée de Montmartre.
Leprin exhibited at the Galerie Druet in Paris in 1928 and 1931. A member of the Salon d’Automne since 1922, he was the subject of a retrospective there in 1933. His work was also presented in the exhibition Marcel Leprin et ses amis at the Musée Galliéra, from December 1964 to January 1965, and later in a retrospective at the Palais de la Méditerranée in Nice in spring 1972. In 1984, Pierre Bureau published a monograph on the painter with Éditions Mayer.
