Born in Frankfurt am Main in 1977, Jorinde Voigt explores processes of inner perception. Affect, memory, imagination, scientific data and human relationships inform an analytical approach concerned with structures in transformation. Initially centred on drawing, her practice has expanded into painting, collage, sculpture, design, music and architecture. She taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 2014 to 2019 before joining Hamburg’s University of Fine Arts in 2019. Her work is represented in collections including the Centre Pompidou, Kunsthaus Zürich and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 2012 she received the Daniel & Florence Guerlain Contemporary Drawing Prize.
