Werner Bachmann
Born in 1945.
Died in 2022.
Werner Bachmann is the author of the poetry collection La visée, a work which, according to the documents provided, was printed under supervision in Istanbul and received the Prix Tirage limité in 2018 (the prize is indicated as having been awarded to the book). Bachmann’s recent trajectory includes a writing grant from the Canton of Vaud, received in 2021, a distinction explicitly mentioned by the author.
Bachmann’s practice also unfolds through collaborations with musicians: the dossier notes at least four joint events with the percussionist and performer Nicolas Monguzzi, combining sound and writing. In addition, the author was invited to work on their texts in the context of a translation workshop and was preparing a residency in Buenos Aires for the project Un million de mantras, according to correspondence reported in the excerpts. Transmission plays an important role in the documented activity: the author organises and leads writing weeks at the Distylerie (Fleurville, Burgundy) and offers a residency/workshop including accommodation and full board, scheduled from Sunday 30 June to Friday 5 July 2024.
With regard to work in progress, the dossier presents a public showing of the novel project Voleurs de diamants, dated 20 November 2021.
