Nag Arnoldi
Born in 1928.
Died in 2017.
He received his training at the École supérieure des arts appliqués in Lugano and in the studios of Giuseppe Foglia, Filippo Boldini, Mario Chiattone and Carlo Cotti. He subsequently worked as a professor at the École supérieure des arts appliqués in Lugano.
His exhibition career began in 1954, primarily in Lugano and the surrounding localities, and from 1960 onward he showed a marked interest in sculpture, while continuing to work in painting and printmaking. Frequent stays in Mexico, noted in the documentation, are evoked as the context for his contact with Indigenous Maya and Aztec art.
Arnoldi produced large-format bronzes installed in public and private settings; the documentation cites, in particular, installations in Lugano and Vaduz. He also produced small sculptures in limited editions; the horse motif recurs frequently in these works.
Works by the artist are held in public collections, including the Musée cantonal des beaux-arts de Lausanne and the Museo d'arte della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, as well as by the municipality of Comano.
The SIKART authority record identified by the number 4000156 constitutes a structured entry documenting these details.
