Joeggu Hossmann
Born in 1978.
Joeggu Hossmann develops a painterly practice that operates as a transposition of the aesthetics of the virtual “flood of images”: his paintings interrogate the frequency, speed, and abundance of stimuli and information characteristic of digital media. His approach places emphasis on the pictorial translation—through colour, materiality, and image construction—of a visual surplus characteristic of contemporary digital environments.
Commercially, he is represented by Python Gallery in Zürich, Galerie Grandel in Mannheim, and Axiom Contemporary (Kierland, Arizona, and Philadelphia). He is also listed as a professional member of Visarte Schweiz. An online presence is indicated through the website www.hossmann.art.
His recent exhibition record mentions solo presentations, including CELEBRATE THE TURNING POINT (Galerie Hodler, Thun, 2023) and WE’RE SO PRETTY ANALOG (Apart Galerie, Solothurn, 2024). He has participated in group exhibitions listed by galleries active online—for example, I’m not there (EXOgallery, 30 July–7 September 2024), and an entry for Energy in Another State (EXOgallery, 4 April–24 May 2025). The biographical profile also notes a fair appearance: Context Art Miami 2023, through Axiom Contemporary.
EXOgallery additionally publishes a list of available works by Joeggu Hossmann on its artist page. A commercial listing is referenced on the Artsper platform, where a summary of his biography and the works offered appears. Among the works identified in public notices is The Ultimate Diva (2021), oil on canvas, 175 x 95 cm.
