Ildiko Angyan
Born in 1954.
According to the exhibition label, Ildiko Angyan is presented as a painter whose landscape practice extends over «four decades»; she is described there as «born in Hungary» and «living in Zürich» (f4, f1).
The works brought together are characterised by landscapes described as «unberührte»: luminous mountains, shimmering lakes, and expansive horizons form the visual vocabulary identified by the gallery (f6).
As a concrete example of this trajectory, WBB Gallery presented the exhibition Spuren des Schönen — Vier Jahrzehnte Landschaftsmalerei from 28 September to 15 October 2017, where Ildiko Angyan’s name appeared on the display dedicated to the event (f3, f2).
The gallery states that it showed a «Querschnitt» (a selection) from the painter’s «umfangreichen Werk», and the exhibition appears in WBB’s inventory of Ausstellungen (f7, f8).
Bringing together a body of work presented as spanning some forty years, the selection staged by WBB emphasises a representation of preserved and luminous landscapes, as set out in the 2017 exhibition label (f4, f6, f3).
