Hans Ruedi Sieber
Born in 1926.
Died in 2002.
After studying chemistry, he worked as a chemist at Gebrüder Sulzer AG in Winterthur. Alongside his artistic practice, he worked as a teacher at a secondary school—an activity reported for Freienstein—indicating a dual professional involvement in teaching and artistic creation.
Engaged in the local art scene, he became a member of the Künstlergruppe Winterthur in 1975 and served as its president from 1980 to 1990. His career received local recognition in 1995 with the prize of the Carl-Heinrich-Ernst-Kunststiftung of Winterthur. The sources also mention an artistic friendship with Alfred Kolb, as well as documented travels to Holland, Sweden, France, Denmark, the former Yugoslavia, northern Germany and Italy—elements that appear in the biographical notices consulted.
Hans Ruedi Sieber’s work is characterised primarily by landscapes and still lifes, often executed in watercolour; these technical and thematic features are regularly noted in the notices. For documentary identification, he is listed in SIKART under the number 4001583.
