Romolo Leone

A painter associated with Naples, Romolo Leone is described as a pupil of Giuseppe Casciaro and a member of the Flegreo group. Two commercial listings give his dates as 1883–1958; one describes him as Italian. The Di Mano in Mano listing indicates that he is said to have lived in Naples, Rome and Paris.

His preferred subjects are landscapes and country houses, as well as the lively streets of the city. The work entitled “Casolare tra gli alberi” is described as an oil on cardboard, signed lower right, measuring 34 × 50 cm.

This profile brings together identity references for Romolo Leone and paintings, drawings and works on paper documented in auction catalogues.
