Otto Günther-Naumburg, a German painter born in 1856 who died in 1941, worked in Berlin and Charlottenburg. His practice combined landscape painting with architectural views. By the Havel, dated 1880 and held by the Stadtmuseum Berlin, takes a river landscape as its subject. In 2024 the painting appeared at Neuhardenberg in an exhibition of Brandenburg landscapes that included loans from the Berlin museum.
Another aspect of his work is documented by drawings preserved in the Kunstbibliothek of Berlin's state museums, within the papers of the architect Christoph Hehl. Their titles describe old houses beside the Neisse in Görlitz and a lane with St Mary's Church. These surviving works bring the depiction of waterways alongside that of the buildings which shape urban spaces, documenting two subjects within his art.
