Wilhelm Walther
Born in 1826.
Died in 1913.
Wilhelm Walther was a German painter recognised for his role as a professor at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. In 1863, he contributed to the ornamentation of the north-west façade of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, executing sgraffiti based on designs by Gottfried Semper. His work bears witness to a period when art and architecture converged, although details of his career remain partly obscure.
