Wilhelm Georgy was a German painter and wood engraver. His artistic career was marked by extended stays in Switzerland, where he was able to immerse himself in the Alpine landscapes. Georgy is particularly recognised for his illustrations accompanying Friedrich von Tschudi’s work "Tierleben der Alpenwelt," which explores the fauna of the Alps.
These contributions attest to his commitment to depicting nature and his surroundings, although details of his career remain partly obscure.
