Werner Koch was an artist whose career was distinguished by a dual expertise in painting and stained glass. From 1918 onward, he taught at the Basel School of Arts and Crafts, sharing his knowledge with future generations. His work is characterised by southern landscapes, genre scenes and figurative representations.
From 1919, he turned to decorative compositions, thereby enriching his artistic repertoire. The details of his career and influences remain partly obscure, leaving room for interpretation and further exploration of his legacy.
