Walter Emch was a versatile artist whose abilities extended to painting, drawing, printmaking, stained glass, sculpture, illustration and fresco painting. From 1976 onwards, he worked as a professor at the IABK in Niederbipp while also directing his own painting school. His career reflects a profound commitment to art education and to creative work in a range of media, although certain aspects of his œuvre remain uncertain.
