Valeria Melodia Boisco
Born in 1970.
Valeria Melodia Boisco presents herself primarily as one half of the artistic duo DuoX, which she forms with Tyrone Brown-Osborne. A presentation source associated with the exhibition Miniartextil 33 indicates that she is based in Switzerland. Together with Tyrone Brown-Osborne, she develops a practice combining photography and textile art to explore the relationship between mothers and daughters, with a particular focus on wax fabric.
The duo’s project is presented under the title Something about mothers and daughters and is structured in three acts entitled Battesimo, Dialogo e Connessione; this configuration was shown at Spazio Natta.
DuoX took part in Miniartextil 33 in Como, an event whose communications indicated that the exhibition could be visited until 9 February. Miniartextil 33 extends across several venues in Como: DuoX presented its work at Spazio Natta as part of a shared itinerary that includes, among other propositions, photographs exhibited at the Basilica di San Fedele.
The available material documents a collective practice centred on intergenerational relationships and on the use of textiles—and wax in particular—as a narrative-bearing material within an installation combining images and textile interventions.
