Urs Amiet
Born in 1533.
Died in 1582.
A painter and stained-glass artist, Urs Amiet works in two artistic fields. In 1558, he creates “Tafelen” for the Barfüsser community in Solothurn. The following year, he co-founds the Lukasbruderschaft, a confraternity of artists.
Alongside his artistic activity, he serves on several occasions as mayor between 1557 and 1567.
