Ulrich Ban I., der Ältere

Originally from Lorraine, he settled in Zurich, where he worked as a glazier and glass painter. He is recognised as the founder of the Ban artistic lineage in Zurich, being the father of Ulrich Ban the Younger and Heinrich Ban. It is possible that he is also to be identified with Ulrich von Bergarten, active in Baccarat.
