Thérèse de Champ-Renaud
Born in 1800.
She trained in Paris, attending classes at the École des beaux-arts in Alexandre Cabanel’s studio. The documentation records a Paris address for the couple at 51 rue Claude-Bernard.
Her known output comprises oils on canvas, including Souvenir du Tréport and Le Retour (the latter located at the town hall of Bois‑le‑Roi), as well as Nature morte avec pêches et raisins, dated 1886 and measuring 46 × 65 cm. An Autoportrait au jardin, dated 1893 (oil, 92 × 73 cm), is recorded in a private collection and bears a signature reading « Th. Moreau de Tours / née Champ‑Renaud / 93 ».
Among the works of notable scale is Le Maire de Rennes (1887), an oil on canvas measuring 200 × 168 cm, held by the Musée de Bretagne (inv. 2012.0002.1).
The sources indicate that she was buried with her family in the cemetery of Bois‑le‑Roi. A selective bibliography is cited in the principal source, including an article by Bénédicte Bonnet Saint‑Georges (LaTribune de l'Art, 2012) and the book by Jean‑Pierre Luauté (Les Moreau de Tours, 2018).
