Simone Chappuis
Born in 1917.
Simone Chapuis-Bischof is described in the sources as a “historic figure in the struggle for women’s suffrage and equal pay”.
Her involvement in associations extended across several levels of the Association suisse pour les droits de la femme (ADF/SVF): president of the Lausanne section (1971–1975), then of the cantonal section (1974–1980), and finally national president of ADF‑SVF Suisse (1988–1995).
Alongside these activist responsibilities, she held editorial positions: chair of the editorial committee of the journal Femmes suisses (1974–1981) and editor of the Bulletin du Grand Conseil vaudois (1980–1993).
Her personal archival collection was deposited at the Archives cantonales vaudoises, an announcement made on the website on 7 February.
