Simon Bachmann is recognised for his work as a wood sculptor and draughtsman, focusing primarily on religious motifs. After 26 years of travelling throughout Europe, he settled in Muri around 1648. Among his notable works is the choir of the Muri monastery church, which bears witness to his skill and commitment to sacred art.
