Ruedi Küenzi made his mark on the Swiss art scene through his work as a painter and wood engraver. In 1961, he worked as a theatre painter at the Schauspielhaus Zürich. From 1991 to 1999, he served as president of the Swiss section of Xylon international, an organisation dedicated to wood engraving.
His oeuvre is distinguished by wall frescoes, illustrations and contributions to architectural art, as well as by colour wood engravings, attesting to notable versatility and creativity.
