Rudolf Simmler
Born in 1633.
Died in 1675.
Rudolf Simmler was an artist whose activity took place primarily in Zurich. He is recognised for his work as an engraver, particularly in the field of book illustration. His contributions to the graphic arts of his time bear witness to an artistic practice rooted in the cultural context of seventeenth-century Zurich.
The details of his oeuvre and influence, however, remain only partially documented, leaving questions about the extent of his impact on the artistic milieu of his time.
