Rudolf König

Born in 1790.

Died in 1815.

Rudolf König was a painter whose oeuvre belongs to the tradition of the König family of artists. A pupil of his father, Niklaus König, he exercised his talent in Paris between 1810 and 1813, where he also taught drawing. His career was marked by a two-year imprisonment resulting from his involvement in political disturbances in Interlaken in 1814.

Rudolf König is known for his portraits and landscapes, which bear witness to an artistic sensibility deserving of rediscovery.
