Pietro Castelli

Born in 1587.

Died in 1626.

Pietro Castelli was an artist whose activity encompassed stucco sculpture and painting. Between 1587 and 1590, he collaborated on the stucco decoration of the chiesa gesuitica di San Michele in Munich. Later, in 1626, he created, together with his brother Gian Antonio, the stucco work for the chiesa dei Francescani in Lucerne.

A member of the Castelli family, originally from Melide, he was also the brother of Elia Castelli, thus further strengthening the artistic legacy of this lineage.
