Pierre Bichet is a French painter, lithographer and filmmaker closely associated with the Jura mountains. After studying in Besançon and Paris, he establishes his studios in Pontarlier. His filmmaking takes him on expeditions with volcanologist Haroun Tazieff.
In his paintings, populated scenes gradually give way to expansive winter landscapes. Snow, landforms and sky create a pared-down vision of the Haut-Doubs. Lithography also holds a central place in his work and in his exchanges with Lermite.
Pontarlier Museum exhibits his Lovers in 2015, highlighting the variety of an artistic world that extends beyond landscape alone.
