Peter Maggenberg
Born in 1380.
Died in 1463.
Peter Maggenberg was a painter associated with the International Gothic style. His artistic activity took place primarily at the beginning of the fifteenth century, during which period he practised his art in the cities of Fribourg, Sion and Lausanne. Although little detailed information about his work has survived, his involvement in these urban centres attests to the importance of his role in the region’s artistic development at that time.
