Paulus Usteri
Born in 1768.
Died in 1795.
Paulus Usteri was an artist whose principal activity lay in the field of drawing. He received instruction in drawing from Valentin Sonnenschein in Zurich. Usteri is chiefly recognised for his work as a caricaturist.
He was the brother of Martin Usteri and the cousin of Paul Usteri, who lived from 1768 to 1831. The details of his career and artistic impact remain partly obscure, leaving open questions about the extent of his œuvre and his influence in the artistic milieu of his time.
