Otto Franz Pilny

Born in 1866.

Died in 1936.

Otto Franz Pilny was an artist whose work focused on Oriental subjects. He served as court painter to the Viceroy of Egypt, a position that attests to his engagement in a rich and complex cultural context. Pilny is also recognised for his work as a miniaturist, producing portraits of great delicacy.

In addition, his activity as a filmmaker points to an artistic versatility that merits exploration. The details of his career and influences remain partly unclear, leaving room for interpretation and study of his artistic legacy.
