Nora Gross was an artist recognised for her work as a painter and watercolourist. By establishing the École d’art appliqué de Lausanne, she played a fundamental role in the artistic development of her region. In addition, she was one of the founding members of the Société romande des femmes peintres et sculpteurs, thereby contributing to the promotion of women artists in the art world.
Her commitment and achievements attest to a desire to advance the position of women in art at the beginning of the twentieth century.
