Melchior Anton von Hospenthal
Born in 1700.
Died in 1799.
Melchior Anton von Hospenthal was a painter from Arth. His work is represented chiefly in places of worship, notably through frescoes executed in the Chapel of St Francis Xavier in Morschach and in the chapel of Wylen, located in Ingenbohl. These contributions attest to his commitment to the sacred art of his time, although little detailed information is available about his career and artistic style.
