Max Hunziker

Max Hunziker (1901–1976) is documented as a painter of figures, portraits and landscapes, working notably in gouache. The same source also mentions bronze sculpture and places the artist in a category associated with “Abstract Painting”. Portraiture also emerges as a recurring subject in his work.

The tone of his paintings is described as possessing “something of that freshness of vision and transcription” that evokes naïve art, without, however, attributing to him any formal affiliation with that movement. This wording concerns the visual quality and manner of transcription, as stated by the source.

The entry classifies him among “Swiss Artists” and includes the designation “Nationality” as it appears on the page consulted. The elements brought together—dates, place of life, media, and brief stylistic characterisations—allow for a succinct presentation of the artist based on the available source.
