Matthias Toma
Born in 1792.
Died in 1869.
Matthias Toma was an Austrian artist recognised for his work as a landscape painter, lithographer and engraver. Between 1818 and 1830, he resided in Schaffhausen, where he established an art gallery as well as a lithographic printing house. His oeuvre reflects a particular sensitivity to landscapes, although details of his artistic production remain partly obscure.
The period of his activity in Schaffhausen seems to have been significant for his professional development, but the specific nature of his artistic contributions merits further exploration.
