Marie-Louise Schüpbach

Born in 1912.

Died in 1978.

Marie-Louise Schüpbach was a painter whose artistic career was shaped by her move to Paris in 1935. She attended the Grande Chaumière, an emblematic place for many artists. After the Second World War, she worked temporarily in the studio of André Lhote, an influential figure in Cubism.

Details of her career and oeuvre remain partly obscure, leaving room for various interpretations of her artistic impact.
