Margarete Ebeling was an artist recognised for her work as a painter and draughtswoman. Her artistic œuvre includes portraits, figurative compositions, still lifes and landscapes. Alongside her artistic career, she directed the Central Office for the Collection of Models for Home-Based Work, commissioned by the Federal Office for Industry, Trade and Labour.
She was married to Herold Howald.
