Line Huguenin-Subilia
Swiss · Vaud figurative painting ¬∑ Lake Geneva and Alpine landscapes, flowers
Line Huguenin-Subilia was a Vaud painter active mainly during the 1920s and 1930s. Based in Bussigny, she took part in Lausanne’s artistic life and exhibited in the cantonal capital, including at the Palais de Rumine in 1935. Her work belongs to the regional figurative tradition and focuses on Swiss landscapes, the shores of Lake Geneva, Alpine subjects and flowers.
Paintings documented today reveal a sustained interest in the Vaud landscape and the natural world. Several views of Lake Geneva have circulated on the Swiss market, while Swiss Art Gallery has documented the oil painting « Alpages et mazots ». Huguenin-Subilia’s painting favours clear composition, natural colour and direct observation of sites and vegetation.
Her place in Vaud’s artistic heritage is now supported by two public collections. Musée d’art de Pully lists « Subilia Huguenin » among the artists represented in its holdings. The CHUV also preserves a work by Line Huguenin-Subilia in its art collection; in 2026 it was included in the ART+HÔPITAL programme.
These institutional holdings establish her work within the history of regional Vaud painting in the early twentieth century.
The works by Line Huguenin-Subilia presented by Swiss Art Gallery extend this artistic journey and take their place naturally within this corpus.
