Lily König
Born in 1799.
Died in 1823.
Lily König was a painter whose work was shaped by her belonging to the König family of artists. In 1818, she presented a watercolour portrait, inspired by a study made by her father, Niklaus König, at the art exhibition in Bern. It should be noted that the first name Lily might refer to Katharina Elisabeth, adding a further layer of uncertainty to her artistic identity.
Although brief, her career bears witness to a strong family connection within the artistic milieu of her time.
