Karl Alois Triner belonged to the notable Triner family of artists. His artistic activity manifested itself primarily as a painter, view draughtsman and writer on landscapes. He practised his profession in several localities, notably in Altdorf, Erstfeld and Schwyz.
Triner was the son of Karl Meinrad, the brother of Franz Xaver, and the father of Josef Franz Xaver Triner, thus attesting to an artistic continuity within his lineage.
