Julien Dinou
Born in 1895.
Died in 1983.
Julien Dinou, who died in Bern on 24 January 1983, pursued a multifaceted career combining scientific studies, dramatic training, and a range of artistic and professional activities.
He initially studied chemistry at the University of Bern from 1910 to 1915, then attended the Schauspielschule des Deutschen Theaters in Berlin from 1915 to 1917.
Before 1943, he worked in theatre and film—both as an actor and a director—and published the theatrical work Massenregie in 1919.
At the same time, he held industrial responsibilities: from 1933 to 1958, he was general manager of imports at Neuweiler AG.
In 1958, he sold his company and settled in Paris in order to devote himself fully to painting; prior to this, he had taken part in the Salons des Réalités Nouvelles in Paris in 1953, 1954 and 1955.
The documentation lists several dated works: La Maison du Pêcheur (1945) and Le voyage de noce (1948), identified as oils on canvas, as well as Clairière en Seine et Oise, dated 1958.
