Jules Hébert

Born in 1812.

Died in 1897.

Jules Hébert was an artist whose work is distinguished by its depictions of Swiss and Genevan history, as well as by portraits and genre scenes. As a painter, drawing teacher and lithographer, he contributed to enriching the local artistic heritage. Hébert belonged to a lineage of artists, being the son of Nicolas-Didier Hébert, which attests to a creative environment conducive to his artistic development.

The details of his career, although notable, leave room for uncertainty as to the extent of his influence and recognition in the artistic milieu of his time.
