Judith Albert
Born in 1969.
This work is a marble sculpture, exhibited in St. Ursen Cathedral in Solothurn.
Judith Albert was inspired by her experience in Genoa, where she photographed marble funerary monuments, which influenced her work on “L'ultima cena”.
The work “L'ultima cena” was conceived as a quotation of Leonardo da Vinci’s celebrated fresco depicting the Last Supper.
The process of creating the work involved innovative techniques, combining craftsmanship with the use of CNC machines to sculpt the marble.
Judith Albert also mentioned that her experience with the rituals of the Catholic Church facilitated her approach to creating this work for a religious building.
