Joseph Wannenmacher
Born in 1722.
Died in 1780.
Joseph Wannenmacher was a painter from Swabia who worked chiefly in Germany and Switzerland. From 1757 onward, he collaborated with Christian Wentzinger on the execution of frescoes in the Stiftskirche and Stiftsbibliothek in St Gallen. His work bears witness to a period in which Baroque art merged with local influences, although little detailed information about his career is available.
