Joseph Traviès was a versatile artist recognised for his work in lithography, painting and drawing. His œuvre encompasses caricatures, portraits, as well as genre and history paintings. Traviès also worked as a drawing teacher, sharing his knowledge in France, where he settled from 1809 onwards.
