Joseph Ignaz Weiss
Born in 1722.
Died in 1792.
Joseph Ignaz Weiss was a painter whose activity is documented primarily between 1752 and 1753, a period during which he worked for Einsiedeln Abbey. He is also known for having executed, between 1772 and 1774, frescoes on the ceiling of the central nave and in the dome of the collegiate church of Beromünster, in collaboration with Johann Jakob Wyss. In 1775, he created a painting for the choir altar in the same building, inspired by a work by Guido Reni.
