Johannes Martin
Born in 1567.
Died in 1577.
Johannes Martin was a painter from Deventer in the Netherlands. On 17 December 1567, he obtained permission to stay in Bern for one year. His artistic activity seems to have been concentrated during this period, although little information survives about his work.
In 1577, he collaborated with Martin Krumm on producing a map of the Bernese territory under the direction of Thomas Schöpf. The date of his death, which occurred in the same year, suggests a brief career that may nevertheless have been marked by significant contributions to cartography and local art.
