Johannes Gachnang

Born in 1939.

Died in 2005.

Johannes Gachnang was active in various areas of the arts. He is recognised as an engraver, art historian, exhibition organiser and publisher. From 1974 to 1982, he directed the Kunsthalle Bern, a role that attests to his commitment to the promotion and dissemination of contemporary art.

Although his professional career is documented, uncertainties remain regarding the extent of his influence and his specific contributions to the art world.
