Johann Michael Suter was an artist whose activity encompassed painting, restoration, and goldsmithing. His presence in Lucerne is documented between 1734 and 1756, a period during which he produced several notable works. In 1747, he painted the Zeitturm, and in 1734, he restored the frescoes of the Franciscan church.
In addition, between 1737 and 1738, he collaborated with Hans Georg Urban on the Weinmarktbrunnen project. From 1756 onwards, he devoted himself to creating the decorative panels of Lucerne’s three wooden bridges. The details of his career remain partially uncertain.
